About Tesla Magic
Following the First World War, Nikola Tesla invented a device that made people happy with the flip of a switch. Assisting him, were a trio of dedicated inventors. There was only one snag. Was the world ready to be happy?
Word spread throughout Kentucky about the harmonifier, and two instruments were assembled with Buck’s input. This time the wires were gone, and the new models were streamlined and refined. This enabled Buck to fine-tune the modulations and to test the theory he had about the individual’s age, weight and size.
Testing was moved to a small room in the Stovall Hospital where the nursing staff assisted Uncle Quincy and Buck in their work. Suddenly, the ambitious Watts Stovall was hosting his peers within the medical profession who traveled to Kozee to examine the harmonifier.
Despite their skepticism, and they were all doubting Thomases like men of science are supposed to be, the various doctors and scientist went away impressed with Tesla’s latest invention. They would smile and nod, and some of them even tried to place orders for their own harmonifiers. They were flatly refused. Neither Tesla nor Alex was ready to go to market.
‘Why does everyone glisten?’ they would ask.
Watts Stovall would offer up a convincing explanation for the elevated heart rate and the dilated pupil, which the medical world accepted.
‘It’s about harmony. Once the muscles relax, the we achieve a perfect harmony between mind and body,’ said Watts, who was careful not to exaggerate. He didn’t want to mislead or overstate his findings. An intelligent man, his answer was correct and logical, but only his father dared to speak the truth.
Uncle Quincy understood the glistening perfectly, and he was prepared to call it what it was.
‘Harmony, bah!’ he exclaimed. ‘It’s like sex only without the mess.’
