About You People

Andy Everman is a Kentucky factory worker who is always looking for a fight, especially during the politically charged winter of 2021. When he learns he has been exposed to COVID at work, he gets tested, but doesn’t wait for the results. Instead, he follows the advice of a manipulative preacher and takes his wife, Lynn, with him on a bus trip to Washington, DC, to participate in the rally on January 6.

For Andy, the trip is a pilgrimage—a chance to stand for something, escape his monotonous job, and the simmering resentment in his marriage. But he has no idea that the lie he tells to get there will have catastrophic consequences.

When Lynn falls gravely ill, his political crusade becomes a personal nightmare. Back home in Kentucky, Andy’s grief curdles into rage, culminating in a violent attack. As the family collapses, his son, Will, with help from an unlikely ally, must find a way to escape the cycle of hate.

You People is an unflinching portrait of a family and a nation at the breaking point as a Kentucky factory worker becomes embroiled in a 2021 rally in Washington, DC, with devastating results.
